Update: Custom Ceramic Tile Coasters

As promised, better photos of the tiles. They still need a coat of resin and some felt on the back but I love them already. Super, super easy. Super inexpensive.

The Wishlist

All I want for Christmas.

Custom Ceramic Tile Coasters

First and foremost, I apologize for this photo. I took it with my phone. It's 02:30 and since there is no sun out, it'll have to do. (I'll take some better ones tomorrow.) The colors are super vivid and pop out at you.

I've been trying to think of something inexpensive to make the girls at work for Christmas. This is only one item that will be going into the gift bags I will be making.

Super, super easy. I went to Lowes the other day and purchased some 4.25" white ceramic tiles. I was looking for unglazed ones but couldn't find any. Tonight I cut 4" square pieces of cardstock and paper and Mod Podged them onto each tile. I used a very thin layer since I didn't want the paper to warp. I then glued down some letters that I had from one of my scrap pads. So far I added 2 additional coats of Mod Podge on top but tomorrow I'll probably add another 2-3 layers. Once that is all dry I'll paint a thin coat of resin all over the top to seal it.

These would work great for any type of gift (holidays, birthdays, etc.) I have a habit of keeping my movie ticket stubs so I think I'll end up making a set with those.

Happy crafting! :)

A Day Out

Mom and I went to the movies yesterday to see the new Narnia movie. I had those free passes from the Deathly Hallows episode. It's been awhile since I saw the second Narnia installation so I had kind of forgotten what happened. This one was good, although I'd dare say not as good as the first one. Maybe that was just because James McAvoy was in it.

After that we headed over to the mall because I initially wanted to swing by The Limited and get a few things for work. That went by the wayside when I couldn't really find anything I was happy with. I popped in to Charlotte Russe and picked up these instead.
I love this purple tank. I might add some sequins or small beads to it.

And this is perfect for work. Layering is essential there because the system is either set on Antarctic or Hell.

Golden Leaf Bath & Body

Introducing my new venture, Golden Leaf Bath & Body. The Etsy shop is up, although there's nothing in it as of yet. And you can find my Facebook profile here. Here's what you can find at Golden Leaf:

Cold process soap: Made the old fashioned way with quality oils, fragrance, and lye. I hope to have between 15-20 different bars to choose from. (See the list in between the photos.) These photos are of my first batch - Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. They smell absolutely wonderful. These bars weigh between 4.5 - 5 oz. each and will be available in 4-6 weeks once they finish curing.

Lip Balm: I'm still tweaking the recipe for these. I hope to have it perfected by this weekend. I'll be making them in flavors such as Juicy Watermelon, Island Coconut and Peppermint, just to name a few.

Lotion: Who doesn't love a good quality lotion? These will be available in a 4 oz. travel size and a larger 8 oz. bottle. You'll be able to get just about every fragrance that the soaps come in.

Soy Tarts: I chose soy because it burns cleaner, lasts longer and gives off a better scent throw. These will be available in 3.5 oz. clamshells which house 6 1"x1" soy cubes. Also available in a wide variety of scents!

Soap Scents:
Applemint, Arabian Spice, Celestial Waters, Cranberry, Cranberry Walnut, Dragonsblood, Ginger Lime, Juicy Summer Watermelon, Lavender, Lavender Oatmeal, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Poppy, Oatmeal Milk & Honey, Peppermint Awake and an Unscented Shaving Bar

Look at all of those oats! Great for exfoliating.

All cut and waiting to be cured.

I'm setting up a separate blog for Golden Leaf which you can find here.

Free Holiday Desktop Wallpapers

Let's be honest. I'm not the typical holiday red and green kinda person. I've been looking for a cute desktop background for this month for my laptop and finally gave up. So I made one myself. Actually, I made a few. And I'd like to share :) It is, after all the holiday season and you know what they say about sharing.

Click any of the wallpapers below. The full size background will come up. Either right click and 'save as' or 'set as desktop' and enjoy!

Update: I do custom as well.
