It's finally here!

After not so patiently waiting, it is here. Finally. And I couldn't be more excited.

I am in love with the nontraditional colors that Kelly chose for this kits. And hello? Deer, gold foil alphas, ELF inspired stamps. I'm practically giddy. There's items from Tim Holtz, Basic Grey, Allison Kreft and of course, Kelly Purkey.

I was waiting to see if this kit would include an album like Ali had in her December Daily kit, but alas, it did not. No worries though! I found an 8 x 8 We R Memory Keepers album in... wait for it... aqua. Totally nontraditional, I know. But how sweet is that gonna look with the kit? It comes with 10 divided page protectors. Still trying to decide if I want to house everything in those or do a combo of page protectors and pages/tid bits just hole punched and added to the album. We'll see. Now the wait begins for the kit to arrive at my house.

The full list includes:
  • 1 Jolly 4" x 6" stamp set designed by Kelly, which is exclusive to this year's kit.
  • 1 sheet each of red, teal and white Kelly Purkey alpha stickers
  • 1 sheet each of Kelly Purkey's Tis The Season and This is Magic stickers
  • 1 sheet of Tim Holtz Idea-ology number rub-ons
  • 4 flair badges designed by Kelly
  • 1 roll of Kelly Purkey diamonds washi tape
  • 1 roll Kelly Purkey gold glitter tape
  • 4 Simon Says Stamp foil cut out snowflakes
  • 1 Kelly Purkey foil cut out reindeer
  • 2 Allison Kreft star paperclips
  • 2 gold heart paperclips
  • 2 cork hearts and 2 cork stars by Fancy Pants
  • 24 sheets of 6.5" x 9.5" of "Capture" designer papers from BasicGrey
  • Assortment of Freckled Fawn wood veneers (approximately 12)
  • Alpha stickers in gold foil from Chic Tags
  • 1 Kelly Purkey "Stacked Deck" in 3" x 4" cards (25 Kelly Purkey designs, 2 Allison Kreft overlays, 2 Kelly Purkey overlays and 2 Kelly Purkey letterpress cards)
  • 3 holiday themed wax seals from BasicGrey
  • 1 sheet of gold and silver candy buttons by BasicGrey
  • 1 pack of Attach Me stickers from BasicGrey

You can find Kelly's here and the aqua album here.

Mid Week Round Up

I just couldn't help myself. I did it again. After canceling my PL subscription back in August, I signed back up a few days ago after getting an email from Studio Calico. What did it say, you ask? Um, a free add on + free shipping if I signed up again. Hello? Hell yes I'm gonna sign back up! Screw saving that extra money each month. This girl is gonna scrap.

Luckily for me, their distribution site is one UPS day away so I received my package today. I'll admit, this month's kit was kinda 'meh' for me but I love the gold alpha stickers from Dear Lizzy. And I'm crazy about the add on kit. So it all works out in the end. *photos snagged from Studio Calico*

I put my preorder in for Kelly Purkey's December Daily kit. This is just a sneak. The full reveal will be later this month, with the kits shipping mid November. I literally cannot wait to get my hands on this kit. I've got quite a few events planned for December and I'm looking forward to documenting them. The kits are still available for preorder over at Simon Says Stamp

I will also be having a moving sale soon. I've got a whole studio worth of stuff that needs to get whittled down to half of a spare bedroom. Depressing, I know. I'm working through it with Spiced Apple Pie Ciders and Masterpiece Theater. In all there will be 6 flat rate Priority mail boxes filled with cardstock, paper, embellishments, stamps, stickers, albums and a whole bunch of other stuff. I'll be posting photos of each box once I get everything sorted. You can find 7Gypsies, American Crafts, K & Company, Jolee's, PL cards and more. So keep your eyes out! They should be posted this weekend.

Sunday Recap

It started out simple enough. I slept in, snuggled with the boys and spent a few hours drinking tea and perusing blogs. After that I dragged all of my December Daily stuff out and set to work on planning my foundation pages and just getting everything in order. I even modified some Thickers that I had (I'll be doing a post on that in the next couple of days.)

Enter Mom.

"Hey, wanna go fishing?"

And my afternoon of scrapping went out the window.

Just like that.

I did manage to catch 6 Largemouth and a Bluegill so I can't complain. Mom can; she only caught one.

So now dinner is in the oven and Once Upon A Time starts very soon.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Hope you all enjoyed yours as well :)

The December Daily: Let's Try This Again

If you've been following by blog long enough, you'll remember a post about The December Daily project from Ali Edwards that I was planning on doing last December. You'll also remember that I never finished it (much less started anything substantial) Anyways, I've promised myself that I will finish one this year. I still have all of my supplies and a few new ones I have picked up this year. In the next few days, I'll be sorting everything and then start to work on my foundation pages. If any of you completed yours last year (or didn't quite make it) feel free to post your Flickr links!

The December Daily: The Goods

I stopped by Michaels and Hobby Lobby to look for things to add to my December Daily album. And of course, I came out with way more than I intended to buy. I think that usually is the case with stores like these two however. I knew I needed something to use for either foundation or accent pages and I wanted to pick up some embellishments as well.

I toyed around with album vs. something spiral bound. We don't have very many places around here that will bind things so my options were pretty limited. I couldn't find a spiral bound album anywhere. Anywhere! I knew ahead of time that I didn't want a very large end product. A 6" by 8" perhaps. While I was walking towards the front to check out I ran over to the $1 bins to see what they had. Score! A perfect little spiral bound journal that I would be able to take apart and use for my base. (I'm rather good at re-purposing if I do say so myself!) :) You can see it in the photo below.

I also snagged some stickers, a fabric covered dove and some reindeer head cut-outs from the $1 bin as well. I found a lovely holiday vintage-esque paper stack at Hobby Lobby and some clear velum frames that I can't wait to use.

I'm still playing around with ideas for foundation pages. I'll keep you posted!

The December Daily

Yes, I know it's only October but I am so excited and can't wait to start on my December Daily! I think I'm going to run to Michaels and Hobby Lobby this weekend to see what I can find for my foundation pages. If you'd like to follow along, head over to Ali's blog. You can also see past December Dailies on Flickr for 2009 and share your work in the 2010 gallery. Or follow on twitter with the hashtag #decdaily.

(Many) photos coming soon!
