Mid Week Round Up

I just couldn't help myself. I did it again. After canceling my PL subscription back in August, I signed back up a few days ago after getting an email from Studio Calico. What did it say, you ask? Um, a free add on + free shipping if I signed up again. Hello? Hell yes I'm gonna sign back up! Screw saving that extra money each month. This girl is gonna scrap.

Luckily for me, their distribution site is one UPS day away so I received my package today. I'll admit, this month's kit was kinda 'meh' for me but I love the gold alpha stickers from Dear Lizzy. And I'm crazy about the add on kit. So it all works out in the end. *photos snagged from Studio Calico*

I put my preorder in for Kelly Purkey's December Daily kit. This is just a sneak. The full reveal will be later this month, with the kits shipping mid November. I literally cannot wait to get my hands on this kit. I've got quite a few events planned for December and I'm looking forward to documenting them. The kits are still available for preorder over at Simon Says Stamp

I will also be having a moving sale soon. I've got a whole studio worth of stuff that needs to get whittled down to half of a spare bedroom. Depressing, I know. I'm working through it with Spiced Apple Pie Ciders and Masterpiece Theater. In all there will be 6 flat rate Priority mail boxes filled with cardstock, paper, embellishments, stamps, stickers, albums and a whole bunch of other stuff. I'll be posting photos of each box once I get everything sorted. You can find 7Gypsies, American Crafts, K & Company, Jolee's, PL cards and more. So keep your eyes out! They should be posted this weekend.

This Just In: {Studio Calico}

In addition to my regular Project Life kit subscription, I took advantage of the Last Call sale that Studio Calico had last week. And I'm so glad I did.

Seriously, how fabulous is this kit? It's the June Roundabout version and I love the colors. I truly believe these kits just keep getting better each month.

Even though I'm not doing Project Life anymore, I can use these kit components for my other scrapbooking projects (Sn@p binder, anyone?)

Yeah, that Field Notes tag? *Swoon*

SC also snuck in a little 'Sorry' button because two stickers were out of alignment in last month's kit? Um, really? Didn't even notice.

Last month I signed up for the Happy Little Moments Class and was looking for some small opaque envelopes. Voila! And a few more stamp kits to boot.

During the Last Call sale, I managed to snag the February 2013 Front Row scrapbook kit.

Mostly, I had my eye on those enamel dots...

... And the wooden die cuts.

That is a seriously thick roll of deco tape and I can't wait to start using it.

Since I was on a roll, I picked up the Navy Pier kit.

It's packed with papers, alpha stickers, washi tape from Freckled Fawn, a stamp set and more.

Still trying to decide what to do with those plastic letters. I'm sure I'll think of something :)

So ladies, what did you get in the mail today?
Links up if you got them!

PL: Week One (Finally)

Week 4 starts tomorrow and I just finished up week 1 last night. I know, I know. But that's further than I got last time I attempted PL. So, yay! I'm almost done with week 2 and have barely made a dent on week 3. I've been fighting some sort of plague-like thing and haven't felt much like crafting. I hope to tackle all of week 2 and at least half of 3 today.

Both Chris and I woke up sick on New Year's Eve so we had to reschedule our NYE and Nashville plans. Bummer, fo' reals. My upgrade finally rolled around and I got my belated Christmas gift, the iPhone 5. I love it! But I think I was really more excited to have a phone where the screen wasn't cracked.

I currently don't have Photoshop so I've been editing and creating in Paint. Not the greatest but it works for now. I stuck in the list of recipes for the 2013 Pinterest Foodie Challenge, which I'll be blogging about later this week. I also gathered up some mail, cropped it down to size and adhered it to a 4x6 piece of card stock. The quote came from Pinterest and you can find my PL board here and Typography board here. I will be using a lot of quotes this year and it's nice to have them all in one place to pull from.

The J came from Martha Stewart's chipboard alphabet. I (very quickly) added the glitter to it last night and was unhappy when it all came off once I stuck it in the plastic. So, since I'm a little ADD about these things, it's currently being reglittered. Yes, that's a word. You might also have noticed I'm using a LOT of washi tape. I just can't help myself. The yellow chevron paper and leaf paper came from the Amy Tangerine 6x6 paper pad from American Crafts. I cut the hot pink 'ONE' from Bazzill paper using my Don Juan cartridge.  The black 'WEEK' letters are from Thickers 'Subway' alphabet.

I added my cough drop and Sudafed packaging and added some washi, journaling and foam stars. The 'Goals' card was created in word and printed on patterned paper (Recollections Bright & Basic). I added the 'Dream Big' brad which came from Studio G. I snuck in the bag from my cinnamon twists from Taco Bell and also printed two screen shots from my iPhone; my current book (Gone Girl - totally twisted but a good read) and tunes (Been listening to a lot of Ellie Goulding lately)

Anyone else obsessed with Downton as much as I am? So glad they're back on! The green kitty paperclip is super old and came from Michael's $1 bin.

I printed out the first 7 days for the 365 project. I think from here on out instead of printing them weekly, I'll just make a grid at the end of the month and add that in it's own sheet protector. I tend to use some of those photos during that week for PL and I don't want them repeating themselves during that week.

So, that's it for now.

If anyone has any questions about products/construction, just drop me a comment.

Retail Therapy

I spotted last years version a little too late so I was determined to score one for this year. They were so popular this year, in fact that Amazon.com has already sold out of them. Don't worry, they'll restock soon. This year it's available in two different color themes; Turquoise and Amber. I ended up choosing the amber version. Here's a video of Becky detailing the entire product.

I cannot wait to get started!
I will be posting each page as I finish it.

I also purchased this beautiful bit of Merino and Bamboo roving from Hampton Artistic Yarns to try my hand at felting some of my Celestial Waters soap. I think I'm going to post a how-to showcasing each step. I love the arctic colors and I think it will be a great match for the scent.

Stay tuned!
