Don't you hate it when you find a series that's been out for a while and you read all of the books in a few weeks and then you're stuck waiting a year or more for the next book to come out? Yep, I'm in that position. I finished book #10 of the Sookie Stackhouse series this morning at 03:00. I guess I'll grab a few from my stack of books to read for work tonight. Next in that stack: Eat, Pray, Love.
It's been a while since I've listed anything. It seems that my Etsy crafting has taken the back burner for a while. However, since I'm moving to third shift I'll have a lot of down time to start crafting again, which means all new items will be getting posted within the next week or so.
As of this Sunday, I'll be moving to 3rd shift. Yep 11pm-7am. I think it'll be a good move. I'll be full time, get the third shift differential and it'll give me a chance to catch up on my reading.
I snagged the Eclipse soundtrack while I was in Louisville last week. I haven't had time to really sit down and listen to it but from what I've heard it's a lot darker than the first two. Already two songs stand out as my favorites; Florence and The Machine's "Heavy in Your Arms" and The Black Keys' "Chop and Change". Here is the track listing:
1. "Eclipse (All Yours)" by Metric
2. "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)" by Muse
3. "Ours" by The Bravery
4. "Heavy In Your Arms" by Florence and the Machine
5. "My Love" by Sia
6. "Atlas" by Fanfarlo
7. "Chop and Change" by The Black Keys
8. "Rolling in on a Burning Tire" by The Dead Weather"
9. "Let's Get Lost" by Beck and Bat for Lashes
10. "Jonathan Low" by Vampire Weekend
11. "With You in My Head" by UNKLE
12. "A Million Miles an Hour" by Eastern Conference Champions
We had a blast! I am a little disgruntled about a few things however.
First, it was a 2 hour tour. So we assumed we would be walking around touring the place for two hours. Wrong. They made us watch a half hour video first about the background of Waverly and it also included clips from some of the more popular ghost hunting shows. Since Dan and I are both die-hard Waverly fans, we had already seen these clips. Then they gave everyone a little break to use the bathroom and such. By that time, it was 10:45. So it roughly worked out to be 15 minutes in the body chute and 20 minutes per floor. In my opinion, not enough time.
Second, the group size was a lot larger than when I went back in 2003. Yes, I know ghost hunting has gotten more popular since then. I get it. But when you have that many people, in that short amount of time everyone wants to take photos and see as much as they can. Once again, I understand. The problem with that though is that someones flash was going off every ten seconds or so. I pretty much saw stars the whole time I was there from getting blinded so much.
On my next visit I will definitely be doing the 8 hour overnight.
Hey all! I haven't checked in lately cause I've been on my vacation in Louisville with Dan. I'd like to say things have gone smoothly and all is well, except I came down with Strep on Tuesday and I'm just now feeling better. Booo. We drove all the way up to Cincinnati to go to the zoo and ended up leaving really early because I was so sick. So not fun. I ended up going to an urgent care center Wednesday night and the doc there was really nice and actually gave me some antibiotics so I didn't have to dish out extra money for that since I don't have insurance. Yesterday we spent the day at Churchill Downs. I ended up winning almost $70! Woo hoo! Go ponies! Right now we're sitting in Starbucks and I'm stealing some wi-fi. Off to Waverly tonight! I'll have pics posted on Sunday.
